Privacy Policy
Effective date: 3 May 2026 · Last updated: 3 May 2026
01 Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to Distlo, a content repurposing service operated as a sole proprietorship by Dinesh Pushpan, based in Mumbai, India. Distlo is the data controller for personal data described in this policy.
This policy applies whenever you:
- Visit distlo.in or any subdomain
- Submit the contact form on the website
- Email us at hello@distlo.in, legal@distlo.in, or support@distlo.in
- Engage Distlo for a paid content pack or retainer
- Connect with us on LinkedIn in a business context
If you do not agree with how we handle data as described here, please do not submit information to us or engage our service.
02 What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact details: name, email address, professional role, company name
- Enquiry content: the message you write in the contact form, including any business context you choose to share
- Order data: your selected pack, billing details collected by our payment processor, and order ID
- Raw input for content production: the video, voice note, transcript, or written paragraph you submit for processing
- Communications: emails, LinkedIn messages, and any correspondence with us
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location: we detect the country your visit originates from to display prices in the appropriate currency. We do not store this information.
- Standard server logs: our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) records standard request data including IP addresses and user-agent strings as part of normal web hosting operations.
What we do not collect
We do not run analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or behavioural profiling tools on distlo.in. We do not maintain a marketing pixel, retargeting list, or third-party advertising audience. We do not collect payment card numbers ourselves — these are handled directly by our payment processor.
03 Why we collect it
We collect personal data only for purposes that are necessary, specific, and connected to operating the service. Specifically:
- To respond to your enquiries and questions
- To deliver content packs and retainer services you have paid for
- To process payments and issue invoices
- To meet our legal obligations under Indian law (including tax record-keeping)
- To communicate about an active order, including delivery, revisions, and follow-up
- To respond to formal notices, disputes, or legal requests
04 Legal basis for processing
For visitors and clients in jurisdictions where a legal basis must be specified (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, although Europe is not a current target market):
- Contract: we process your data because you have entered, or are about to enter, a service agreement with us — this covers all data needed to deliver an order.
- Consent: when you submit the contact form or send an enquiry, you consent to us using that information to respond.
- Legal obligation: we retain certain records to comply with Indian tax law and other applicable regulations.
- Legitimate interest: we may process limited data — such as basic LinkedIn business profile information — for cold outreach to professionals whose role and business are publicly visible. We do not source contact data from third-party data brokers.
For Indian residents, processing is conducted in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). The principal purpose of processing is to deliver the contracted service. Notice of these purposes is provided through this policy.
05 How we use your data
Generating your content pack
When you submit a raw input for processing, that input is run through Distlo's SIGNAL Framework to produce the deliverables described in your order. This involves AI-assisted analysis. The framework is operated under the direct supervision of Distlo. Generated outputs are reviewed before delivery.
AI sub-processors
Distlo uses commercial AI tools to assist content generation, including services from Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini). These tools are configured for business use and processing happens on enterprise terms that prohibit the use of customer content for model training. Your raw input may be transmitted to these sub-processors for the sole purpose of generating your deliverables.
Direct marketing
We do not run automated marketing campaigns or send promotional newsletters. If you have engaged Distlo previously, we may contact you directly about relevant updates to your order or service. You can opt out of any non-transactional contact by replying to the relevant email.
06 Who we share data with
We share personal data only with the following categories of third parties, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their function:
- Payment processors: Razorpay (India and international card payments) and Cashfree (international Standard and Retainer transactions). They process your billing information directly under their own privacy policies.
- Email infrastructure: Zoho Mail hosts our hello@distlo.in, legal@distlo.in, and support@distlo.in inboxes.
- Form submission: Formspree processes contact form submissions and forwards them to our inbox.
- Document signing: Zoho Sign handles digital signature of client agreements.
- File storage: Google Drive and Google Forms hold onboarding briefs and uploaded raw inputs during active engagement.
- AI processing: Anthropic and Google, as described in Section 5, for the limited purpose of content generation.
- Hosting: GitHub Pages hosts the distlo.in website.
- Legal advisors: external counsel may be engaged in connection with disputes, contract review, or compliance matters.
- Tax authorities: as required by Indian law for invoicing, GST, and tax filings.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to anyone, ever. We do not share data with marketing networks, ad platforms, or data brokers.
07 How long we keep data
Distlo applies a tiered retention policy:
- Raw input files (video, audio, transcript, written input): retained for 30 days after delivery, then permanently deleted from active storage.
- Generated output (content pack): retained for 180 days after delivery, after which the file is removed from active storage. Clients are responsible for downloading and archiving their own deliverables within this window.
- Signed legal agreements: retained permanently as a business record.
- Payment records: retained by the relevant payment processor under their own retention policies. We retain transaction summaries and invoices for the period required by Indian tax law (a minimum of 8 years).
- Email correspondence: retained as long as it has business or legal relevance.
- Contact form submissions (no order placed): retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted unless an active conversation is ongoing.
You may request earlier deletion of your raw input by emailing hello@distlo.in with your order ID. Requests are processed within 7 working days.
08 How we secure data
We apply the following baseline practices:
- The website is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption
- Email infrastructure runs on Zoho Mail with two-factor authentication
- File storage and document handling use Google Workspace under enterprise terms
- Access to client data is restricted to the proprietor (Dinesh Pushpan)
- Devices used for client work are protected by full-disk encryption and screen-lock policies
- Backups are encrypted at rest
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal data, we will notify you and any required authorities without undue delay, in line with applicable law.
09 Your rights
Rights for all users
- Access: request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Erasure: request deletion of your personal data, subject to retention obligations under law
- Withdraw consent: for any processing based on your consent
- Object: to specific uses of your data, including cold outreach
For Indian residents (DPDPA, 2023)
Indian residents may also nominate another individual to exercise their rights in the event of incapacity or death, and have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
For UK and EU residents (UK/EU GDPR, where applicable)
Although Distlo does not currently target the European Union, residents of the UK or EU who interact with us also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
How to exercise your rights
Email legal@distlo.in with the subject line "Privacy Request — [type of request]". We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.
10 International transfers
Distlo is based in India. If you are located outside India and engage with us, your personal data is transferred to and processed in India.
Some sub-processors we use may store or process data in other jurisdictions. Specifically:
- Anthropic: United States (with international processing infrastructure)
- Google Workspace, Google Drive, Gemini: United States and other Google data regions
- GitHub Pages: global content delivery network
- Formspree: United States
- Zoho Mail and Zoho Sign: primarily India, with regional data centers as configured
By engaging Distlo from a non-Indian jurisdiction, you understand and consent to your data being transferred internationally for the purposes described in this policy.
11 Cookies and tracking
distlo.in does not currently set tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or behavioural analytics scripts.
We use one piece of local storage on your browser to remember your light/dark theme preference. This is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Currency detection on the pricing section is performed at page load via a single API call to a third-party geolocation service (ipapi.co). The country code returned is used solely to display prices in the appropriate currency and is not stored.
12 Children's data
Distlo's services are intended for business use by professionals aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, please contact legal@distlo.in and we will delete it promptly.
13 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the date of the most recent material change. Where changes materially affect how we handle your data, we will notify active clients by email and post a notice on the website.
Continuing to use Distlo's services after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
